Trends Over Time

Since the industrial revolution, trends in greenhouse gases, temperature, and sea level have been on the rise. Population expansion as well as the combustion engine, the implementation of the electric grid, evolutions in farming, and greater personal consumption have greatly increased the carbon emissions of society. Access to reservoirs of fossil fuels in the earth have allowed us to better our quality of life, but much of the carbon that lay buried within the earth for millions of years is now in the atmosphere.
